Piara Waters is setting a new standard in privacy and serenity in community living, thanks to a change that arose out of necessity.

When assessing the site for our master-planned Resort, we determined the location was ideal, as long as we moved to manage potential noise from some nearby dog kennels – which we did.

To counteract this, we adjusted the Resort design and included acoustic treatment to the homes closest to the kennels.

“It cost considerably more to do this – in the realms of $10,000 to $15,000 extra per home – but it’s proven to be such a great addition to the Resort that we expanded this treatment to be part of all our homes, even though they’re away from the kennels,” says Resort sales manager Janine Thomas.

“It’s wonderful because, for example, if a homeowner plays the piano or loves listening to the symphony a little louder than the average bear, they don’t have to worry about impacting the quiet enjoyment of others who live in their street.”

How did we discover how much difference the treatment really makes?

“One of our carpenters was relaying to us how he and his son could have a conversation with one of them on one side of the window and the other on the side when working on regular brick and tile houses in the suburbs,” states Janine.

“They found it much less social installing the windows of our Providence homes, though, because as soon as they installed a window, they could not continue their conversations, due to the premium acoustic treatment of the windows!

“We’re very excited to be delivering a new level of privacy and serenity to the Resort with this approach and our homeowners tell us how much they value it too.”
