“The opening night of the new Clubhouse was overwhelming; it just took your breath away with the Hamptons design, which is gorgeous,” relays Barbara Milner.
“Quite often we go over there when my family and friends come over and they’re all taken aback when they see it because it’s just beautiful.”
Barbara joined Piara Waters Resort two years ago, downsizing from a large home in Rockingham where she’d lived for 35 years.
“I feel a lot safer in the Resort because you drive in and the gates close behind you,” she explains.
The level of security is comforting to her family, too. It was her daughter who suggested moving into the Resort, so Barbara could be closer to her loved ones.
“I have family in Harrisdale and Piara Waters, so I can see them a lot more now,” says Barbara.
“I’ve just taken up bike riding again also, and this morning I was in the gym on the treadmill.
“As well, this morning we were learning how to make washing soap and we all brought home a sample.
“There are lots of events on and you can either join in or have your own space.”
The retired aged care worker is also taking advantage of the community design by staying in the Resort while upsizing to a bigger home.
“Initially, I bought a one-bedroom Tiny Dancer but will be moving into a bigger house with an extra bedroom so that I can have a dedicated study,” Barbara says.
“I like looking at my ancestry and it will be great to have another space to go for that.”
Barbara says joining the community was made easier thanks to Resort managers Brett and Shellie Gaskin, and Providence Lifestyle Group managing director John Wood: “I appreciate everything they’ve done – and their vision.”
