“It’s not a retirement village, it really has a resort-style feel and the people here are fantastic; we’ve made so many friends,” share Brian Eather and Sue Lake.

The couple has immersed themselves in the flourishing community since settling in late in 2023.

“The new Clubhouse is superb and the social life is just amazing for us,” says Sue.

“The best part is that we can socialise and simply stroll home.

“We just wander down the street and have a few drinks and walk back to our house and we know everything is safe.

“Being in a gated community is the best thing ever.”

At just 68 and 66 respectively, retirees Brian and Sue are relishing their new-found freedom.

After taking a tour through the Resort and being impressed with what they saw, they decided to take the plunge.

They settled on a Moon Shadow Deluxe design, downsizing from a 4×2 home on a relatively large block of land in the area.

“We didn’t want three bedrooms, but we’ve got two and a study, which is perfect for both of us,” Sue states.

“You don’t need as much room as you do all of your socialising outside of the home because there’s the Lake House and the Clubhouse.”

Sue and Brian are also particularly pleased the move into the Resort didn’t mean they had to give up their love of caravanning.

“We wanted to find a place that we could safely lock and leave, so we could go and travel without having to worry about the house,” explains Brian.

“The Resort has secure on-site storage for our caravan.

“There are not too many places where you can do that, you usually have to look at outside storage and that can get expensive.

“So being able to have our caravan here is a great asset for us.”
