When John Carter’s wife became ill, the couple knew the time had come to shift back to Perth to be nearer to much-loved relatives.
Having been enjoying living in a resort-style community close to Noosa in Queensland, John jumped online searching for a similar safe and secure space, and soon discovered Piara Waters Resort.
“I flew over and had a look and was really impressed with the style of the houses and the whole setup, including the Lake House and all the existing and coming facilities,” states John.
He moved into a lovely low maintenance two-bedroom home last September and made the tough decision for his wife to enter aged care.
“I go and see her every day in Aubin Grove,” he shares.
“It’s been so helpful to have a community around me and the social gatherings are very good for someone that’s just moved back into WA.
“The camaraderie is great; there are a lot of people to chat with and get advice from.”
John, a retired professional who loves walking around the wider neighbourhood, has his sights set on using the recently unveiled Clubhouse.
“I’m looking forward to going to the gym and I love a game of pool,” reveals John.
“I found over in Queensland – and I’m confident it will be the same here – that the Clubhouse will be a focal point that will bring people together and have a lot of activities taking place.
“It will be nice to be able to invite my daughter, grandkids and other close relatives into the Clubhouse and have a coffee and a chat.”
