When COVID restrictions meant Lyn Fisher was unable to see her son and his family for two years, Lyn made the brave decision to move here from New South Wales.

“I lost my other son in 2000 and my sister during COVID, so I knew what I had to do;

life is too short to not be closer to family,” she says.

Having only ever visited Perth, she knew no one else here.

It’s now been more than a year since she moved to Piara Waters and Lyn says she revels in the Resort’s atmosphere.

“I just love the community of people here,” she states.

“They are fantastic and I’m grateful they’ve been so welcoming.”

Lyn’s three-bedroom ‘Sweet Dreams’ home is large enough to have her grandkids stay over and space for a sewing room.

She says the gorgeous design suits her to a tee.

“I used to live in a community like this in NSW and there were no fences around my place,” she explains.

“Here, I’ve been able to do my own thing in the backyard and have a lovely veggie garden and a beautiful deck.

“I’m really happy.”

Lyn, who’s on the Resort social committee, is keenly awaiting the completion of the Resort’s community garden and Clubhouse.

“I’m very much looking forward to the swimming pools because I’ll be in them!” the former swimming teacher promises.

A seasoned caravaner, Lyn is also embracing the Resort’s shared electric vehicle.

“I’ve taken it for a run and I’m excited to use it to surprise my family down at Mandurah soon,” she laughs.
